Special Lecture by Minister of State for Antiquities, Arab Republic of Egypt was held
Kansai University's Center for the Global Study of Cultural Heritage and Culture held a special lecture on Crisis of Egyptian Monuments and the Future by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Minister of State for Antiquities, Arab Republic of Egypt on November 26th at Senriyama Campus.
In the lecture, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim explained the current status of stolen and destroyed cultural heritage caused by confusion after the Egyptian revolution and deterioration of domestic situation, the efforts being made to deal with these problems and the conservation of antiquities by State of Antiquities, the conception of the Grand Egyptian Museum, and so on. All the participants were able to glean an understanding of the current situation in Egypt, and also the need for archeological conservation work in Egypt and in the rest of the world.
