Overview

 The Asuka Institute is in Asuka, a treasure trove of ancient Japanese history surrounded by nature.  Nearby sites of interest include the Ishibutai Tomb, a Special Historic Site, as well as Asuka-dera Temple, Takamatsuzuka, and the Kitora Tomb.  The Asuka Institute is the ideal starting point for a walk through famous historic and literary sites of Japan.  (Capacity: 112 people)

  • Take a taxi from the East Exit of Kintetsu Kashiharajingu-mae Station (about 20 minutes).

KOGAKUKAN (Osaka Prefecture)

Overview

 KOGAKUKAN was built on the Takatsuki campus as a part of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Kansai University.  At the nearby Settsu Gorge, visitors can enjoy the colors of the four seasons, including over 3,000 cherry trees in bloom during spring, vivid fresh foliage in summer, and red leaves during autumn.  (Capacity: 190 people)

Access by Train

  • From Settsu-Tonda Station or Takatsuki Station (platform 5) on the JR Tokaido Main Line, take a Takatsuki City Bus to Kansai Daigaku, Hagitani, or Hagitani-Sogokoen, get off at Nishino-kuchi (Kansai University Main Gate), and then walk about five minutes.

Overview

 Hakuba Tsugaike-Kogen Lodge is situated at the foot of the Tsugaike ski area in a lush northern part of Nagano.  Visitors can enjoy skiing and snowboarding in the winter as well as Tsugaike Nature Park, one of Japan's most impressive high moors, from spring to autumn.  The park is home to Asian skunk cabbages, day lilies, and various other beautiful alpine plants.  (Capacity: 46 people)

Access by Train

  • Take the Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka Station to Nagoya Station (about 60 minutes).  Take a limited express train from Nagoya Station to Matsumoto Station (about two hours).  Finally, take a train from Matsumoto Station to Hakuba-Oike Station on the JR Oito Line (about 90 minutes).
  • Take a regular-route bus from Hakuba-Oike Station to Tsugaike Kogen, the last stop.  Walk for about 20 minutes from there to reach the Hakuba Tsugaike-Kogen Lodge (Seminar House).

Access by Car

  • Take the Meishin Expressway/Hokuriku Expressway to the Itoigawa Interchange (about 440 km).  From there, take National Route 148 to the Hakuba Tsugaike-Kogen Lodge (Seminar House) (about 60 minutes).
  • Take the Meishin Expressway/Chuo Expressway/Nagano Expressway to the Azumino Interchange (about 420 km).  From there, take National Route 148 toward Hakuba, Omachi to reach the Hakuba Tsugaike-Kogen Lodge (Seminar House) (about 80 minutes).

Overview

 This villa is situated in Mt. Rokko National Park, an area north of Kobe City, near the mountain's lush summit.  From the terrace, visitors can enjoy panoramic night views of Kobe City.  There are also nearby tourist spots such as an artificial snow ski area, Rokko Garden Terrace, and Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden, enabling visitors to experience all that the four seasons have to offer.  (Capacity: 50 people)

Access by Train

  • From Rokkomichi Station (JR Tokaido Main Line), Hankyu Rokko Station, or Hanshin Mikage Station, take a Kobe City Bus bound for Rokko Cable Shita, and then get off at the last stop.
  • Take the Rokko Cable Car to Rokko Sanjo Station (about 10 minutes).
  • From Rokko Cable Rokko Sanjo Station, take a Sanjo Bus (circular bus) bound for Rokko Garden Terrace, get off at the Mt.Rokko Athletic Park stop, and then walk about five minutes.

Overview

 This villa is located near the eastern shore of Lake Biwa, enabling visitors to view the changing seasonal faces of the Lake from the windows.  There is also an avenue of cherry trees on the site, which bloom in the spring to the delight of visitors.  In addition, visitors can take advantage of two tennis courts and an outdoor barbecue area.(Capacity 24 people)

Access by Train

  • From Hikone Station on the JR Tokaido Main Line, take an Ohmi Railway Kokoku Bus bound for Kenritsu Daigaku or Mitsuya, get off at Hassakakitamachi, and then walk about three minutes.  Alternatively, take a bus bound for Shiritsubyoinmae, get off at Hassakakitaguchi, and then walk about five minutes.
  • Take a taxi from Hikone Station on the JR Tokaido Main Line (about 15 minutes).

Access by Car

  • Take the Meishin Expressway to the Hikone Interchange, and then travel from there about 15 minutes.
