On October 5, Professor Hikaru Kinoshita of the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Engineering received the 2023 Good Design Award. The award was presented to "White Glaze Roof Tile and Ceramics' Chamotte Wall" in the "Housing Exterior Products" category of the judging unit "Housing Equipment."
Professor Kinoshita researched and developed tile and wall materials, and designed and constructed a detached house using them. His work was highly evaluated for measuring and analyzing roof and interior temperatures, and creating materials that contribute to the environment.

The Good Design Award has been given since 1957 to honor activities that improve people's lives and society through design.
