Academic Interaction Agreement Concluded between ICIS and the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Sapienza University of Roma
The Institute for Cultural Intereaction Studies (ICIS), Kansai University concluded an academic interaction agreement with the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Sapienza University of Roma on August 3, 2009 following the agreement concluded in March 2008 between the two universities.
ICIS and Sapienza’s Faculty of Oriental Studies intend to work cooperatively in order to further promote their education and research activities in the fields of Chinese studies in Europe, the Jesuit mission in Japan, and the diffusion of the Western culture in the East.
Sapienza University of Roma was established in 1303 as an institution to foster clergypersons and study theology. Currently, it holds 21 faculties with more than 100 departments and 30 research centers. The Faculty of Oriental Studies was set up in 2001 with the aim of enhancing Asian-African studies.
