KU Bridge Japanese Cooking Class
"KU Bridge"- Peer Support Group held a Japanese cooking class on December 8 on Senriyama campus to promote cross-cultural exchange through cooking. During the class, participating students prepared inarizushi and miso soup. Although Japanese people are familiar with these dishes, half of the international students said they had never even heard of them before. So, the KU Bridge members prepared leaflets about the historical origin of the dishes both in English and in Japanese, and explained them to the students. At first, they were acting a little awkward and bewildered, but managed to finish cooking together with the KU Bridge members. All of them enjoyed a lot learning how to cook traditional Japanese dishes.
