On June 12 (Sat.), international exchange students at KU visited the Isyouan in the Nada district of Kobe city. This beautiful house is famous as the place where the celebrated Japanese novelist Tanizaki Jun'ichiro wrote "The Makioka Sisters". An elegy to a bygone era, the students were able to catch a glimpse of early Showa society through the story of the Makioka family.
