Rimi Kajikawa (senior, Faculty of Letters), Kansai University Karatedo club member, took second place in the women's individual Kata at the 39th All Japan Karatedo Championships, held in Tokyo, Japan on December 10-11.

Chihiro Kato (senior, Faculty of Letters), also a KU Karatedo club member, finished in the top eight in the women's individual Kumite; while Team Osaka, for which Karatedo club member Shota Koide (junior, Faculty of Commerce) was selected, came third in the men's team Kumite competition.
