
The Kansai University Research Center for Naniwa-Osaka Cultural Heritage Studies will hold an international forum on the theme of "Unraveling the Mystery of the Japanese Folding Screen depicting Osaka during the Toyotomi Era" with the cooperation of Osaka Castle Museum. Three guests will give lectures about Schloss Eggenberg-owned eight panels of Japanese folding screen ("byōbu") from various aspects, such as the scenery painted on the folding screen, the history of relations between Japan and Europe, the treatment of the"byōbu" in Austria, and the charms of Graz, Austria where Schloss Eggenberg is located.
The forum is open to the public.
