The Sixth Kan-Dai International Speech Contest in Japanese was held by the Division of International Affairs
The Sixth Kan-Dai International Speech Contest in Japanese was held on Senriyama Campus by the Division of International Affairs on December 3rd, 2008. There were eight students who gave a speech, expressing their impression on Japan and Japanese people and renewed feelings for their home countries and families through their study-abroad experience, etc.
As for the awards, Ms. Suzana HANIBALOVA from Czech Republic (sophomore, Faculty of Letters) won the President’s Award. She gave a speech titled “Two worlds in a new light”, which was regarding the risk caused by stereotypical views when understanding other countries and their people in this globalizing world. Ms. LI Yini from People’s Republic of China (exchange student, Graduate School of Institute of Foreign Language Education and Research) gave a speech titled “What my family told me” and won the Topic Award by audience vote. Ms. Anastasia GUBAR from Russia (exchange student, Graduate School of Letters) won the Interesting Choice Award by expressing herself through Rakugo instead of a speech.
