Department of Safety Management:
Man-made Disaster Management Course/Natural Disaster Management Course

Developing human resources who can contribute to designing safe and secure society

  The Faculty of Safety Science intends to foster human resources who can contribute to realizing safe and secure society through the study of law, politics, economics, business administration, psychology, sociology, science, informatics, engineering and social medicine with the aim of combating issues threatening social safety. Its curriculum is systematically drawn up centered on the two categories - accidents and natural disasters. Students will participate in small-group seminars, learning current cases of man-made disasters including accidents and natural disasters, while conducting exercises, researches and simulations. In the autumn term of the second year, students will take up either Man-made Disaster Management Course or Natural Disaster Management Course to further pursue their studies. Depending on their interests and future courses, students are expected to acquire the ability to formulate and implement policies related to safety and security, and thus contributing to society in several fields after graduations.
