To meet the social needs according to the rapid development in science and technology, the Graduate School of Science and Engineering trains researchers and high-level professionals in various fields of science and engineering. Based on our motto “harmonizing the academic studies with the practice”, our curriculum is designed to train our students to possess not only a high level of theory and skills in the specialized fields but also a wide view to utilize science and technology to benefit the people. Courses are designed to those in our undergraduate program. We offer small-sized classes to ensure the students to study in close contact with the professors. The students are highly encouraged to present the outcome of their research in academic meetings and are trained to be able to. By nurturing the skills and the logical reasoning indispensable to creation of sophisticated and reliable “mechanisms” and “devices”, the Engineering Science aims to develop competent human resources capable of contributing to industrial technologies and the better functioning of society.
The Environmental and Urban Engineering aims to nurture richly creative human resources equipped with the knowledge of science and technology necessary to creating or revitalizing safe, secure, and environmentally-friendly urban areas.
The Chemistry, Materials, and Bioengineering major aims to advance science and technology by refining and harnessing the functions of living systems, chemistries, and materials within their respective environments, while fostering professionals equipped with the design and fabrication competencies required for developing innovative science and technologies.
