Graduate School of Foreign Language Education and Research
The Graduate School of Foreign Language Education and Research is a world leader when it comes to the nurturing of foreign language education professionals. It is also renowned for its wide range of subjects and a Faculty that are at the forefront of their fields of research. The master’s program offers students a balance of both theoretical and practical subjects. Moreover, it has been set up to allow ease of access to those already working, with a one year M.A. program for teachers, an extended term program, and both daytime and evening classes on offer. Under the Ph.D. program, future researchers are trained in the methodology of empirical research, the results of which are reflected in an excellent record of student papers published in prestigious international academic journals. A feature of both programs is the high ratio of international students and those who are already in the workforce. Furthermore, an additional feature of the School is the offering of courses such as the “Course for the Nurturing of Specialists in Japanese Language Education,” which have been established to provide support for a wide variety of career pathways.
