Global Career Mind Program : UCB Day 8 Activities

On the final day of the Global Career Mind program with University of California Berkeley, KU students spent their morning reflection time preparing for their final presentations, after which they took part in their final lecture, a presentation of "Funniest Flops: Silicon Valley's 'Hall of Shame,' a fun and interactive session that reveals that even smart people can have dumb ideas sometimes."

In the afternoon, they gave their final presentations, a culmination of two weeks of research into companies that are part of the Softbank Vision Fund, to a panel of their peers, the lead program instructors, program coordinators, and special guests, Otterbein University professor Mayu Okawara and UCB Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Frederick T. Wehrle.

One student, attending the presentations from Otterbein University, gave the KU students the following feedback:

"I wanted to say that the presentations were very interesting and that it's very noticeable how their English improved, I could understand everything and some of them were so interesting that I researched about them myself during the presentations, it was a pleasure!"

The day ended with a casual session in which the students watched real sample pitch presentations and analyzed and discussed their pitfalls.

Although the UCB program wrapped on this day, activities will continue through the next week with another COIL between KU and Otterbein University.
