Exchange Scholars from Overseas

Kansai University has a researcher exchange program with partner universities which have entered into a partnership agreement with Kansai University for exchange scholars programs.
Below is a list of universities that have such an agreement in place and engage in exchange scholars programs (as of May 2023).

Visiting Scholars

Visiting professors and Visiting researchers programs are programs in which overseas researchers with notable educational and research achievements are invited for up to six months to increase the level of academic research and education at Kansai University.
Visiting lecturers and special lecturers are included in this program.
Visiting lecturers are invited to provide lectures for the students and researchers at Kansai University while present in Japan.
Special lecturers are invited based on special needs from the perspective of the overall approach of the university.
※Application for visiting scholars is made by the host researcher(Kansai University faculty member).

Scholars from Overseas

Faculty members, researchers, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students at an overseas university or an educational or research organization who wish to conduct research at Kansai University may apply for scholars from overseas by submitting an application. Upon acceptance of their application, they are permitted to conduct research here as Scholars from Overseas.

Use of Dormitory by non-Japanese Researchers

This facility is connected with the Kansai University Japanese Language and Culture Program (three-story building for classrooms) and the international student dormitory (eight-story building for dormitory).

  • (1) It is a five-minute walk from the Kansai University Senriyama Campus to Hankyu Senri Line Kandaimae Station, and then a two-station three-minute ride to Hankyu Senri Line Minami-Senri Station. It is a five-minute walk from the station to the Kansai University Minami-Senri International Plaza.
  • (2) The 8th floor is reserved for overseas researchers. Floors 2 through 7 are for international exchange students, and the 1st floor contains communal space.
  • (3) A building manager is on–site 24 hours a day.
  • (4) Smoking is forbidden outside of the designated areas in all of the buildings (including rooms and balconies) at the Kansai University Minami-Senri International Plaza.
  • (5) The dormitory is located in a quiet suburban neighborhood.
Convenience
  • (1) In close proximity to Minami-Senri Station are shops with all of the necessary amenities, including a super market, a book store, a post office, a bank, a hospital, restaurants, and more.
  • (2) For trash/garbage disposal, please follow the instructions provided by the Kansai University Minami-Senri International Plaza.
Room Size and Facilities
  • (1) The entrance to the dormitory has an automatic lock system.
  • (2) Two types of flats are available for visiting researchers: a 1LDK (four rooms) and a 2 LDK (five rooms), each of which has a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a bath, and a toilet. The 1 LDK has one additional Western-style room and the 2 LDK has two additional Western-style rooms.
  • (3) Each flat comes with the following: sofa, television, bed (one for the 1 LDK, and two for the 2 LDK), closets, desk and chair, refrigerator, dining table, chairs, microwave, rice cooker, cooking utensils, air conditioner, washing machine, iron, drier, and vacuum cleaner.
  • (4) All of the rooms are fitted with wireless LAN. (You must provide your own computer.)
  • (5) The dormitory follows Japanese custom and shoes are not to be worn inside the flats.
