The IIGE Global Network COIL Matching Fair was held on August 5, 2022. At this event, the participants were offered a chance to meet and interact with fellow faculty members and COIL coordinators looking for COIL partners.

This time, the matching fair took place virtually in Zoom and oVice, a custom virtual connection platform. The event started in Zoom with opening remarks and tips for COIL matching and collaboration by  Prof. Keiko Ikeda and Prof. Sajjad Pouromid from IIGE, Kansai University.

This was followed by roundtable-style break-out sessions in Ovice. For the event, we created a virtual Ovice space with 10 match-making booths based on different types of COIL. In three rounds, participants shared their COIL interests and discussed opportunities for COIL collaboration.

Virtual Mi-room

In the fall semester, the same Ovice space will be open to students for language exchange under the name Virtual Mi-Room (Multilingual Immersion Room). Students can use the room to meet with fellow students from around the world and practice different languages including Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and many more. Please feel free to share the link with any students interested in language exchange. Opening hours will be announced in the Ovice space around October.
