COIL with National Central University (Taiwan) took place for the first time as part of intensive summer courses conducted by IIGE Vice-director Prof. Keiko Ikeda in August 2023 in collaboration with Prof. Ying-Ting Wu, deputy director of NCU’s newly established facility, the CEECS (College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) - EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) education center. 

 

During the three sessions on August 2nd, 3rd and 7th, students actively engaged in Padlet activities and introduced themselves, their countries and cultures, and also discussed similarities and differences between Japan and Taiwan in terms of SDGs initiatives.  Exploring more about different cultures opened the students’ eyes to appreciation of Japan’s and Taiwan’s appealing facets and global issues they have been confronted with.
