IIGE Director and Vice President for Kansai University Yutaka Maeda and IIGE Vice Director and Kansai University Professor Keiko Ikeda took part in the 2020 SGU Online Symposium, co-presenting a session on how different universities in Japan have been dealing with the current predicament under COVID-19 on June 30, 2020.
Director Maeda introduced the means of managing this crisis at KU, including remote teaching, tracking system and social distancing. Prof. Ikeda presented how COIL/VE education has been conducted at KU introducing several programs and projects, such as "Reversed" Virtual Mobility,  Virtual Internship Program, International Educational Partnerships, Global Citizenship Education, as well as their benefits in the time of crisis.
The symposium also included discussion time where participants from various universities in Japan were given an opportunity to exchange perspectives on how globalization in higher education can be improved.
