On June 9th, Dr. Michael Fields, senior instructor of business at Eastern Oregon University, joined one class via ZOOM – Critical Thinking for Social and Global Issues, lectured by assistant professor Jiun-Yan Wu. Dr. Fields virtually exchanged his experience and opinions with Kansai University students and thus concluded the 5-week COIL partnership between two universities.

　In this project-based COIL partnership, mixed-nationality and interdisciplinary teams were required to come out with novel business ideas to address different dimensions such as consumers, markets, society, or technology.

　Kansai University students actively applied learned skills of critical thinking by asking right questions, reflecting, articulating their arguments, and providing different perspectives to make the business ideas viable.In addition, both sides of students enhanced their intercultural understanding and communication.
