QSApple 2019 : IIGE Presentations
Specially Appointed IIGE Associate Professor Don Bysouth presented at QSApple2019 held at Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan on Wednesday, November 27th. His breakout session, "Why COIL?: Benefits for Faculty and Institution in Higher Education with Global Mindset," explored improvements in cross-cultural awarness and understanding through COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning), COIL as a tool for EMI (English Mediated Instruction), and expanding international networks at the university level through COIL Plus mobility programs, using Kansai University as an example.
IIGE Vice-Director, Professor Keiko Ikeda also presented in two sessions during the conference, speaking on the topic of "Global Employability for Japan-bound International Students," and held a joint breakout session panel titled "Evaluating High Impact Learning: International Summer Schools" together with Dr. Hajime Nishitani (Professor, Hiroshima University; I-Bavi; Kansai University COIL-BEVI Project).
