KU-UMP COIL : Icebreaking Session

Kansai University "Japanese Science and Technology" students led by Professor Keiko Ikeda connected with Universiti Malaysia Pahang Professor Gan Min Leong's "EEV Energy Efficient Vehicle" class to kick off their COIL collaboration with an ice-breaking live session on Wednesday morning, October 30th.

13 KU students and 5 UMP students introduced themselves at the start of the session and uploaded their individual profiles to Padlet, an ICT tool used to facilitate international student communication. UMP students are currently on semester break but will be joined by additional classmates in the coming weeks for their KU-UMP COIL project.

In this introductory session, the UMP students gave their KU peers a brief introduction to Malaysian culture, and background on their university, followed by an explanation of their research into energy efficient vehicles. The session ended with a Q&A. KU students will give their own presentation in the next COIL session.
