UAlbany-KU COIL Plus : Asynchronus COIL Presentations

After four weeks of exchanges and communication via SNS, Kansai University (KU) and University at Albany (UAlbany) students were asked to put together group presentations about campus life as part of their final task for the COIL Project between the two universities.

COIL projects do not always necessarily involve synchronous communication, especially when time differences do not permit,  such as the 13 hour difference in this particular COIL Project. Due to this difference, students presentations were scheduled during regular class hours to be recorded and shared via cloud recording with their international peers, with feedback to be given via shared ICT tools used in this project.

On Monday, October 28th, the seven KU student groups gave their presentations in English, introducing various features of the KU campus, including university health and fitness, athletic centers, eateries, innovative dining technology, popular sporting events, and on-campus convenience stores.

The COIL session, facilitated by Assistant Professor Elvita Wiasih, opened with pre-recorded video messages from UAlbany and the Fashion Institue of Technology (FIT) welcoming KU students to study abroad as part of the Winter COIL Plus Program, NY Chapter, next February 2020.
