On the first day of the International Virtual Exchange Conference (IVEC), IIGE vice-director Keiko Ikeda presented at the panel "Virtual Exchange, Global Impact: The Future of Responsible Internationalization at HEIs."

The panel brought together global HEI experts from strategic internationalization, virtual exchange design, sustainability, and student voices, to discuss the future of virtual exchange. The speakers discussed how virtual exchange can foster accessibility, inclusivity, sustainability, technology-enabled learning, and global competence development in the context of internationalization at higher education institutions. They also reflected on the latest technological advancements and pedagogical approaches in virtual exchange. 

Dr. Ikeda provided insights from the Japanese perspective and discussed how virtual exchange can be a responsible form of internationalization of higher education in Japan.
