The IIGE Global Network COIL Matching Fair was held on August 1st and 9th, 2023. At this event, the participants were offered a chance to meet and interact with fellow faculty members looking for COIL partners. 

 

The matching fair took place virtually in oVice, a custom virtual connection platform, and the participants were also offered an option to post on a Padlet board. Over 50 faculty members and COIL coordinators from the USA, Canada, France, Spain, South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan participated in the event.

 

The live sessions started with opening remarks and tips for COIL matching and collaboration by  Prof. Keiko Ikeda and COIL Coordinators Rob Kuipers and Mariya Byvakina from IIGE, Kansai University. This was followed by roundtable-style break-out sessions in Ovice. In order to accommodate all the participants, we created a virtual oVice space with match-making booths for group and private meetings. In three rounds, participants shared their COIL interests and experiences and discussed opportunities for COIL collaboration.
