A seminar on Japanese language education in the U.S. by Cornell University and DePaul University was held

On August 9th, a seminar on the theme of profiling students learning Japanese at U.S. higher education institutions was held at Senriyama Campus GSC in a hybrid format (face-to-face and via Zoom). A diverse group of professors and administrative staff of Kansai University joined this event.

During this seminar, Ms. Eriko Akamatsu and Ms. Misako Suzuki from Cornell University (New York, USA), and Professor Nobuko Chikamatsu from DePaul University (Chicago, USA), who have been promoting various international exchanges including COIL, presented what kind of students are studying Japanese at American universities and what kind of career path they are considering. They also gave presentations on the ways students are studying Japanese and considering their future career paths, as well as on the possibility of accepting and retaining students.

We are hoping to continue collaborating with both universities throughout our blended mobility program.
