IIGE and the JPN-COIL Association were featured at the August 4th Prime Minister's Office policy meeting titled "Government Task Force on Strengthening Japan-U.S. Relations through Grassroots Initiatives (Various Approaches)".

 

The primary objective of this task force is to deepen awareness of the importance of the U.S.-Japan relationship at the state and local levels. The task force is overseen by Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Kihara and includes representatives from pertinent ministries and agencies.

 

During the meeting, Director Ikeda from the Higher Education Bureau of the Ministry of Education underscored the role of COIL in fostering stronger U.S.-Japan relations. In his presentation, he showcased IIGE and the JPN-COIL association as examples of effective grassroots initiatives.
