J-MCP MF Training Kick-Off
The Japan-Multilateral COIL/VE Project Main Facilitator (MF) training kicked off its first live session on Friday, November 19th with an introduction to the project and training content led by IIGE Vice Director, Prof. Keiko Ikeda and Assistant Prof. Sajjad Pouromid.
This training series will shed light on the ways intercultural learning is embedded in the VE/COIL methods, how facilitators can encourage interactive and engaging communication online, developing rubrics and the various technologies that can be implemented into J-MCP courses utilizing the all-in-one ImmerseU platform.
In this first session, trainees learned more about what will be expected of them as MFs, to acquire knowledge and sustain the J-MCP community in the coming academic year. They were also given a walk-through of the ImmerseU CMS platform (which will be used both in the training as well as project modules) and guided through the onboarding process and given a chance to discuss their questions and concerns.
The next live check-in in the MF Training series will take place on Friday, November 26th.
