Bridgewater State University Online U.S. Education and Culture Program

Four Kansai University students participated in an online program from Bridgewater State University on US education from May 24 – June 3, 2021, joining 22 students from BSU Asian partner institutions (Education University of Hong Kong, Shanghai Normal University, Tokyo Gakugei University, and Wakayama University).

The two-week, synchronous program looked at Schooling in America and provided students opportunities to practice their English in small-group discussions. Prof. Marvelle from the BSU College of Education and Health Studies led the program in cooperation with the Minnock Institute for Global Engagement. Among the program topics discussed were: How We Teach English Language Learners to Speak English, Teaching Reading and Language Arts, Classroom Management, Designing the Classroom Space, A Visit to an American Kindergarten, Teaching Science/Engineering, and more.

A graduation ceremony was held online at the program close on June 3rd (pictured below).

Kansai University is grateful to have been a part of this successful program.
