KU Students Joined a Virtual Session Organized by DePaul University

On September 29th, enrolling students in Cross-Cultural Competence (Spec. Appointed Assistant Professor Elvita Wiasih's class) participated in one of the global conversations facilitated by DePaul University and its partner institutions around the world. The topic was “The Call for Healing: Teaching and Learning during a Global Pandemic”. It was one of the Global Conversations in Fall 2020, ​​a series made available for students around the world to connect virtually and reflect on the impact of the pandemic to their academic and personal life.
The session was facilitated by Dr. Donna Kiel (DePaul University), Dr. Renee Laufer Amorim (Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)), and Dr. Keiko Ikeda (Kansai University).  Facilitators shared the impact of COVID-19 to their professional life as an academia, especially as a professor.
Students from Japan and other countries joined the conversation and shared how the pandemic affected their life as a student and their learning process. Participants shared about the challenges they faced and how they overcame those challenges. The session was closed by sharing a life lessons learned through the time of COVID-19.
