Malaysia Blended Mobility program started with COIL

The 2024 Malaysia Blended Mobility program has successfully concluded its online component! On February 15th, at the fourth and final session of the COIL collaboration, the students of Kansai University and Rikkyo University along with their peers from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) presented outlines for their upcoming on-site projects.

Students engaged in virtual interactions via platforms like Zoom, fostering mutual learning and cultural exchange. Andrew Sowter, Associate Professor at IIGE, facilitated these discussions. Subsequently, along with IIGE Coordinator Mariya Byvakina, he will accompany KU students to Kuala Lumpur, commencing on February 23rd, 2024, to kick off the study abroad segment of the program.

The online phase has not only broadened students' understanding but has also instilled in them a deeper appreciation for sustainability, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through their participation, the Kansai University students are earning academic credits while actively engaging with sustainability issues.

At IIGE, under the JIGE initiative, we are thrilled to witness the personal and academic growth of students as they embark on this transformative journey. Stay connected for further updates on this exciting initiative!
