Oct. 8, 2019 COIL-BEVI Seminar

Kansai University IIGE will host a COILxBEVI seminar at Senriyama Campus on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.

With the expansion of overseas study programs, more universities are looking to increase the number of inbound and outbound students. As various types of study abroad (language / intercultural learning / exchange / long-term / short-term) are implemented, visualization of the learning outcomes of inbound / outbound students and objective evaluation of the effects of study abroad programs are necessary.

As a means of replacing “evaluation” based on subjective satisfaction questionnaires only upon program completion, both inbound and outbound students have shown clear and objective changes due to study abroad programs by taking the BEVI before and after the study abroad program.

As a follow-up to the symposium at JASSO on October 4, 2019 ( Dr. Kris Acheson (Purdue University, USA), an assessment specialist and a pioneer in the educational use of BEVI, will provide analytical tools for the university, teachers and staff in charge. This workshop will explore the details of data analysis, and introduce the results of tests actually conducted at sample universities.
