The IIGE Professional Development Series 2022 "Building Global Resilience with I.D.E.A. (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access)" held its 6th and final session, "Enhancing Access, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ADEI) In Global Learning Through Decolonization" on January 18th (JST). Yet, limited efforts have been achieved in this arena. What do we mean by ADEI and Decolonization? What are some of the barriers to increasing ADEI in global learning, and specifically how do colonial legacies hinder ADEI efforts in global learning?
Drawing on the expertise/insights of the panelists, participants learned about various practical strategies/approaches to decolonizing global learning to enhance ADEI.The session was facilitated by Gateway International and speakers included 'Dimeji R. Togunde, Keshia Abraham, and Omolabake Fakunle.
