Kansai University’s Institute for Innovative Global Education (IIGE) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for our Summer 2022 Diversity and Inclusion Train the Trainer workshop, co-facilitated by Core Collaborative International (CCI). 

 

関西大学グローバル教育イノベーション推進機構（IIGE）では、2022年夏、Core　Collaborative International (CCI)と共同し、Diversity and Inclusion Train the Trainerワークショップを開催します。

• Wednesday, June 22 Japan/Tuesday, June 21 US:
  Course Introduction and 1st module content discussion

• Wednesday, June 29 Japan/ Tuesday, June 28 US:
  2nd, 3rd and 4th module content discussion

• Friday, July 1 Japan/ Thursday, June 30 US:
  5th module and Student Course Project discussion

Content・内容

Kansai University's Institute for Innovative Global Education (IIGE) has identified crucial needs in workforce development that can be addressed through creative application of pedagogy in virtual exchange. Diversification of national and international work environments has precipitated an urgent need to provide cross-cultural communication skill development for learners.

 

Core Collaborative International (CCI) will provide training facilitators for synchronous sessions in a five-module course for IIGE to use to support instructors as they embed virtual exchange in their courses. IIGE has requested a proposal for mentoring trainers at IIGE (and potentially other institutions) to learn best practices for training faculty to use the course. This mentorship would be in the form of three workshop sessions (synchronous sessions with asynchronous materials).

 

Trainees will:

 

1) develop deep understanding of the Diversity in the Workplace materials;

2) become familiar with best practices for facilitating intercultural learning;

3) improving skills for managing student socio-emotional responses to content regarding diversity and equity.

 

※ A digital certificate will be issued to those who complete the training.

① Graduate students, faculty, staff, and administrators at JPN-COIL Association institutions, members of IIGE COIL Partner Universities, and IIGE  Network institutions are eligible to participate.

② Workshop seats are limited (max 20). Only 2 faculty members per institution may register.
