The IIGE Professional Development Series 2021 "NO TURNING BACK: Welcoming a New Era of International Learning and Engagement. 国際学習とエンゲージメントの新しい時代を迎えて" kicked off its first session on "Emerging Education Technologies for International Learning and Engagement." This webinar featured a panel of experts from education technology-related fields, who shared their insights on the changing landscape of international education in a post-COVID world which will inevitably be shaped by the experiences of the past year and a half, when many higher education institutions turned to online education solutions, putting the power of these experiences directly into the hands of the learners.

 

Facilitator and co-sponsor of the series, Gateway International Group Managing Director Dr. Anthony C. Ogden, remarked that  "How we realize [the goal of improving accessibility in international education] for our students and institutions is shifting and expanding," which was a core theme of the session.

 

The session closed with the question, "Looking to the future, what do you see as the major developments in educational technology that have the potential to revolutionize the next generation of international education?"
