Kansai University is pleased to announce the upcoming Japan Study & Cultural Exchange Program, a special one-week program for students from partner universities to take part in December 2026.

 

Program Dates: December 14–21, 2026

Location: Kansai University, Osaka, Japan

Program Fee: USD1,000 per participant

Application Deadline: November 4, 2026 (JST)

 

Participants will:

・Create meaningful exchange with Kansai University undergraduate students through collaborative classes and campus-based activities.

・Connect classroom learning with fieldwork, industry visits, and direct observation in Kyoto and Osaka.

・Deepen understanding of Japanese society, culture, and regional identity through guided experiential learning.

・Build intercultural communication, teamwork, and reflective learning skills in an intensive international setting.

 

Program fee:

The program fee is USD 1,000 per participant and covers accommodation at a business-class hotel, cultural activities and excursions, and program-related coordination.

 

Selection criteria:

Undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students who are enrolled at one of the 38 JIGE-affiliated partner universities for the full duration of the program are eligible to apply (check the list here).

 

Visa and flight expenses:

Students are responsible for obtaining the appropriate visa and covering their travel expenses to and from Japan. Kansai University does not provide visa support.

 

Academic requirements and English proficiency:

Applicants should be in good academic standing (recommended GPA around 3.0). The program is conducted entirely in English, with a minimum English proficiency level of CEFR B2.

1) Motivation letter
2) Pledge form

 

The maximum number of participants is 30 students. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so please be sure to apply early.
