Thai Blended Mobility Program: Market Research, Product Ideation, and Field Trips

The final phase of the on-site program was dedicated to completing market research and preparing for the final presentations. On September 12th, the students participated in a dynamic presentation skills workshop led by Prof. Markane Sypraseuth. In this session, they gained practical tips on effective communication, audience engagement, and structuring presentations for maximum impact. This workshop not only helped them sharpen their skills but also equipped them to create engaging materials to showcase their research findings.

On Friday, September 16th, the students took part in the online Jamming session, a collaborative event that connected participants from all four blended mobility programs. This session provided a platform for students to exchange insights on their ongoing projects and receive valuable feedback from both peers and instructors. For the Thai blended mobility program participants, it was an excellent opportunity to showcase the first phase of their market research and present their findings on sustainability practices within selected Thai companies.

Product Ideation Workshop

The final days of the program shifted focus to product development. On September 14th, the students engaged in an intensive, hands-on product ideation workshop, once again led by Prof. Markane Sypraseuth. The workshop challenged students to transform their market research into innovative product ideas tailored for the Thai market. Working in teams, each group identified three existing products from the Japanese market with potential for success in Thailand.

To validate their ideas, the students conducted interviews with Thai students on campus, gathering feedback to refine their product concepts. This iterative process helped the teams narrow down which products to pursue further and guided the development of their marketing plans. By the end of the day, each group had crafted a polished product pitch, ready to present to stakeholders.

On the final day, the students showcased their product pitches to an executive from CP ALL, a leading Thai retail conglomerate, along with staff from Panyapiwat Institute of Management. These presentations marked the culmination of their hard work, with each team receiving constructive feedback from industry experts.

Field Trips and cultural exchange

After the intense project work, the students enjoyed a well-deserved break with several cultural field trips. They visited iconic locations such as the Grand Palace, the ancient city of Ayutthaya, and the modern shopping and cultural complex, Icon Siam. These excursions offered a glimpse into Thailand’s rich history and vibrant contemporary culture, providing students with a deeper understanding of the local context in which their research and product development took place.

In addition, the students took part in a cultural exchange session with PIM students and joined a cooking workshop to learn how to prepare popular Thai dishes such as Tom Yum Soup and Thai Milk Tea.
