COIL Plus programs to Singapore and Thailand started

This month marked the first time IIGE launched new COIL plus programs since the COVID-19 pandemic started. We are delighted to finally have our  students participate in short-term study abroad again, in collaboration with our valued partners in Singapore and Thailand.

The COIL plus program is designed as an extension of COIL programs and affords students the opportunity to take part in temporary overseas staffing experiences, internships, corporate visits, and local classes in line with specialized themes.

Singapore program

The COIL plus program in Singapore is in collaboration with DKA Global Education and Consulting and Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP). This two-week  program features a one-week internship at the AIA group, an internationally renowned insurance company, as well as a series of workshops, visits  and project-based learning activities on the NYP campus.

Last week, the students completed their internship at the AIA Singapore headquarters, where they participated in various master classes and developed new financial products and business plans. The program also included visits to leading organizations including Singapore National University, the parliament house, the urban redevelopment agency, and the housing and development board. On the last day, the students presented their work to AIA executives.

This week, students are participating in company visits and local classes while further developing their final projects on the NYP campus. Students visited international organizations including Origgin and the Asia-Europe foundation. Local classes are provided by Professor Benson Ong, CLASSdo and the School of Information Technology.

Thailand program

The COIL plus program in Thailand is in collaboration with Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM). During this 2-week program, students participate in a short-term internship at the CP ALL group and participate in a series of local classes, field visits, and exchange activities with PIM students.

During the first week, students attended lectures by PIM and CP ALL group representatives and took part in fieldwork activities including visits to various cultural sites ( What Po, Grand Palace, Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre, etc.) and company visits to CP ALL operated businesses. Another feature of this program is exchange with PIM students. To promote this, students attended student-led language and cooking classes and each group was assigned a PIM buddy student.

In the second week, the students will attend various business lectures and cultural visits, while working on their final projects on the PIM campus.
