21st Century Skills Program Week 3

On the week of Feb. 28, students enrolled in the 21st Century Skills program participated in the lecture sessions on Presentation Skills led by Prof. Sajjad Pouromid (Kansai University). In the first session, the students did an ice breaking activity where they were divided into small groups and presented "worst presentation ever" to afterwards analyze what not to do  when giving a presentation.
In his lectures, Prof. Pouromid pointed out the importance of understanding the audience and tailor your presentation to them and shared some crucial steps the students should take when preparing for a presentation. The students were given a roadmap to help them with constructing their final presentation, with which they worked in breakout rooms as teams. After working in teams, some had a chance to share their plans and get some advice from Prof. Pouromid. They will continue working on the presentation as a group project and will be presenting it at the end of this program.
The lectures also included open discussions where students were given some statements about giving presentations such as "Good presentation is not about information, they are about transformation" and "Powerful presentations are about changing something in what your audience believe, in what they feel, and what they do.", and they were able to share their thoughts and opinions with the class.

Next week, students will meet again to participate in classes, in which the topics will be "Critical Thinking Skills" and "Well-Being".
