FIT Visit to Kansai University

Connecting students across the globe in the hopes of developing friendships and improving international relations is just one of the many benefits of the COIL Plus Program. Kansai University (Global Awareness I) and Fashion Institute Technology (Japanese Language Conversation) had their COIL exchange for 8 weeks in Spring Semester 2019 (April-May). Following this online collaboration are student mobility programs between both institutions. Last week (June 16 - 23) three Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) students visited Kansai University IIGE as part of this program.

During their stay, they enjoyed a campus tour, met with KU students, participated in Japanese language classes, joined cultural activities at the Division of International Affairs Mi-Room, and attended Assistant Professor Elvita Wiasih’s “Global Awareness 1” class to participate in a COIL exchange with their global partners.

In their free time, the students toured Osaka city to explore the local culture and cuisine with their new Kansai University friends, and visited USJ.
