On September 5th, Prof. Dr. Keiko Ikeda, Vice-Director of Institute for Innovative Global Education (IIGE) at Kansai University, led the KICK OFF Meeting 2020 for UMAP-COIL AP Program. This meeting was held to provide a space to discuss potential AP (Advanced Placement) Programs
in the Asia and Pacific region.
At the meeting, which was held in English with consecutive interpretation to Japanese, Ms. Rosie Edmond from ISEP Study Abroad (https://www.isepstudyabroad.org/), Dr. Richard Porter form Texas Tech University in the US, Dr. Shingo Ashizawa from UMAP (http://umap.org/) and Toyo University in Japan, Mr. Jorge Burgos from Catholic University of Maule in Chile, Ms. Christine N. Ferrer from Tarlac Agricultural University in the Philippines, and Mr. Clay Hensley from Collage Board (https://www.collegeboard.org/) joined as the panelists. The panelists shared their knowledge and their past experience with AP Programs, essential information for creating effective and sustainable programs. The meeting ended with a Q&A session where the participants were able to ask questions to the panelists.
We are hoping to make this meeting sequent and continue to gather to develop AP programs in Asia Pacific region.
