On Nov. 24, 2021, Kansai University students in Biotechnology and Bioethics course and Japanese Science and Technology course met online with students from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (Malaysia) for the first time.
They had been doing ice-breaking activities and some discussions asynchronously for a few weeks on an online platform called Padlet, but this was their first time meeting on Zoom. The students were given 3 topics to focus on in this collaboration and divided into 3 groups accordingly to the topic they chose.

Proposed topics:
A. The public are farewarned about the long run adverse effects of the EUA released of the genetic-based COVID vaccines
B. Plant-based meat and cell-grown meat promises good health, food sustainability and solutions for combatting global warming.
C. Mobile medical apps are good approach in maintaining one's health, particularly in boosting one's immune system.

In today's meeting, after a brief introductions from the instructors, they were broken into 3 groups to share their thoughts and discuss the topics further. Among the students who are focusing on topic C, they talked about actual medical apps they use and discussed how such apps can reach more people as well as how they can help maintaining one's stress level. The students will continue to interact on Padlet to talk more about each topic.
