The Division of International Affairs is looking for motivated, dedicated and reliable international students to work as Global Teaching Assistants (GTA) in the Mi-Room (Multilingual Immersion Room) at Kansai University. 
 
【About Mi-Room】
The Mi-Room is an experiential learning environment where students utilize their existing language skills and synthesize it with newly acquired knowledge and experience in a practical, tangible manner.  The Mi-room also has facilities for self-study, and provides an environment for people wishing to meet international students and experience cross-cultural communication in a meaningful way. Users are mostly undergraduate students preparing for studying abroad. However, students of all levels, ages and faculties use the room for their own varying reasons.

【About GTA】
GTA stands for Global Teaching Assistant, student staff who assist with the various activities held at Mi-Room. The main job is as follows:
Main Roles of GTA
(i) Teaching language courses and sessions on topics from around the world
(ii) Planning and organizing events for international exchange and cultural experiences, etc.





【Eligible Applicants】
・    Japanese students in their second year or above with a daily conversational level of foreign language proficiency.
・    International students enrolled at Kansai University（Including dual nationality）
／Exchange Student ／ JLC Student
・ If your status of residence is “study abroad”,
Must have obtained “PERMISSION TO ENGAGE IN ACTIVITY OTHER THAN THAT PERMITTED UNDER THE STATUS OF RESIDENCE PREVIOUSLY GRANTED” before starting work as GTA
（※ For those who do not have above Permission at the time of 
application, please got to the immigration and obtain one as soon as possible.  
Please contact Division of International Affairs for application procedures.）
※If your residence status is not “study abroad”, please contact to Division of 
International Affairs.
 
【Candidate Desirability】
・    Should be motivated to learn as well as teach, be autonomous and disciplined, and have excellent time management skills.
・    Should have outstanding interpersonal skills and confidence to instruct sessions in the Mi-Room
・    Should be interested in sharing their own cultures and traditions, while being open minded and welcoming of others’ cultures and traditions.
・    Although teaching experience is not required, it is desirable.

【Working period】
  Fall semester: from September 2022 to March, 2023
【Number of positions】
Multiple positions available
【Working hours】
9:00am – 5:00pm on Mon – Fri the term during the classes are conducted.
※We may ask you to work on Saturday and Sunday in exceptional cases.
【Working place】
Mi-Room@ Senriyama campus 

【Salary】
1,100 yen per hour

Mon Sep 23th,2022( To be contacted in the evening)

【GTA Training】
Monday 26 September, 18:00-20:00. （＊compulsory）（＊All GTA must-attend）

【GTA Orientation】
Tuesday, 27 September, 18:00-20:00
