On Thursday, November 20, Kansai University hosted a special lecture as part of the “Understanding Europe Seminar,” inviting Mr. Thomas Gnocchi, Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Japan. 

In his engaging talk, Mr. Gnocchi provided a clear overview of the European Union’s historical development since the post–World War II era, the formation of its member states, and the EU’s role on the global stage. 

In addition, Mr. Gnocchi introduced a wide range of topics, including the strategic partnership between the EU and Japan, economic cooperation, and collaboration in the fields of education and research. 

Students remarked that the session offered valuable insights into international affairs and greatly contributed to their understanding of the EU’s global engagement. The event proved to be a meaningful and enriching learning experience for all participants.
