FEATURE #1

Thorough development of foreign language proficiency:
Small classes and an additional foreign language.

At the time of admission, students of this faculty choose either "English" or "Chinese" as their major language, and work to thoroughly improve their foreign language proficiency in small classes. In addition, we will cultivate outstanding proficiency in additional foreign languages.

FEATURE #2

Study abroad for one year and graduate in four years.

In the second year, all students study abroad at a partner university for an academic year, where they experience new perspectives and lifestyles. Credits earned during study abroad count toward students’ final graduation credits, making it possible to graduate in four years.

FEATURE #3

Five programs to deepen specialized knowledge in fields according to students’ interest.

In their third and fourth years, students deepen their specialized knowledge through five programs: Foreign Language Education Program, Area Studies, Intercultural Communication, Interpretation and Translation, and International and Regional Cooperation. With Kansai University being a comprehensive university, it is also possible to study a wide range of social science subjects such as international relations, international cooperation, and tourism policy.

STUDY ABROAD

Our compulsory one-year study abroad program nurtures foreign language proficiency, a deep understanding of cultures, and the development of “life skills.”

Double Degree Program with
Beijing Foreign Studies University

The double degree program with the School of Chinese Language and Literature at Beijing Foreign Studies University is a program that allows students to obtain a bachelor's degree from both universities upon graduation by extending their study abroad period by six months and earning the required credits.

4 years of study

Over the course of four years, students develop advanced thinking and communication skills through participation in seminars, foreign language courses taught in small groups, a one-year study abroad program, and our five academic programs that are designed to develop deep specialized knowledge.

Curriculum details
The practical curriculum, including a one-year study abroad program, is designed to steadily improve students’ foreign language proficiency, specialized knowledge, and general qualities as a person.
