Distance Learning ProgramDistance Learning Program

Overview

Starting from the academic year of 2023, Kansai University's Graduate School of Foreign Language Education and Research will offer its program via distance learning. This move aims to provide students with diverse needs the opportunity to complete their postgraduate studies, as well as expand their educational and research opportunities. The distance learning program enables students to attend classes remotely through a web-based application. The majority of courses are available online, with only a few exceptions due to the nature of the study content. The exams required for course completion can also be taken remotely.

Eligibility

Both the MA and Ph.D. programs will be available via distance learning. However, the conditions for each program differ. For the MA program, it is available to residents of Japan who wish to pursue either "foreign language education" (with the research language limited to English) or "interpreting and translation studies" (with the language pairing mainly being English and Japanese). For the Ph.D. program, it is available to residents of Japan and those living abroad.

Admissions Procedure

The admissions procedure for the distance learning program follows the existing entrance examination policy. There is no upper limit to the number of applicants. Applicants must obtain formal approval in advance from their respective supervisors, including signed documentation to be submitted during the application process. For those living abroad and unable to obtain a supervisor's signature, please contact the Admissions Office.
