We welcome students from Hwa Chong Institution
2014.11.21
We accepted four students and one teacher from Hwa Chong Institution in Singapore for three days from November 18 (Tue) to 20 (Thu).
[Day 1]
They looked a little tense and nervous. The second-year senior high school students, including those selected to serve as a buddy for the international students, provided support so that they could enjoy comfortable campus life. In class, students sitting near the students from Singapore acted as their interpreters.

At lunch time, the Singaporean students joined the Junior High School's second-year class to have a school meal. Japanese students gave explanations in English about the school meal, including how to eat.

[Day 2]
At a general meeting of second-year senior high school students, discussions were held under the theme "Nuclear Energy is Detrimental to Society."

Singapore students made presentations about their country, with focus on their campus life, Singapore culture and various systems, and water-related issues.
In the afternoon, they went to Kyoto to enjoy the changing colors of autumn leaves.

[Day 3]
In the morning, the students from Singapore took classes, and in the afternoon they visited the Imashirozuka Ancient History Museum in Takatsuki City, where they saw ancient burial mounds, created comma-shaped beads, and learned about the local history of Takatsuki.
A ceremony and farewell party were held after school, in which some events were performed as a recreation at our students' suggestions. The party was a huge success.
Although the Singaporean students' stay was very short, the friendship between the students of the two schools was deepened.
