We welcomed a total of 20 participants from U.S.A., Canada and Korea to IJLC Summer 1, which began on June 4, 2024.

Once again, KU students participated as "Conversational Partners" in the Japanese language classes to support the international students.

We received comments from many participants such as, "I really enjoyed the course because I had a lot of conversations in Japanese with my conversational partner, a student from Kansai University," and "My conversational partner gently taught me Japanese."

In addition to the Japanese language classes, they went on field trips to Nara and Kyoto, where they had a wonderful time.

In Nara, they tried their hand at making sushi. In Kyoto, they tried painting traditional Japanese folding fans. Both were special experiences unique to Japan for them.

The three weeks flew by.
