Field Trip on Saturday, October 26
2024/11/06
At the Kansai University Japanese Language and Culture Program Preparatory Course (Bekka), we offer field trips twice a year, for students to learn about Japanese culture and society, providing opportunities to deepen their understanding.
On October 26, about 90 Bekka students visited the Kyoto Prefecture, led by teachers and staff members. The weather was beautiful, and they were able to take a short break from their studies and return refreshed.
At the Kinkaku-ji Temple, they admired the iconic pavilion covered in gold leaf, a symbolic landmark of Kyoto. After exploring Arashiyama, shopping, and savoring a traditional Kyoto-style lunch, they visited Marumasu-Nishimuraya, where they experienced "Kyo-Yuzen Dyeing", a renowned traditional Kyoto craft. Each student created a unique tumbler, painting freely with their own creative designs.
It was a fulfilling day for them to experience Japanese culture and technique as well as to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Kyoto.
In addition, the students, who are usually in different classes, were able to communicate with each other in Japanese and deepen their exchange.
