Field Trip on Saturday, April 27

2024/05/07

At Kansai University Japanese Language and Culture Program Preparatory Course (Bekka), we offer field trips for students to learn about Japan and its culture twice a year for the purpose of learning about Japanese culture and cutting-edge technology through hands-on experience.

On April 27, about 80 Bekka students went on a field trip to Kobe City and Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture led by teachers and staff members. They were able to take a short break from their studying hard and return refreshed.

The students visited the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake Memorial Disaster Reduction and Human Renovation Institution to learn about disaster preparedness.

After crossing to Awaji Island, they went to Wellness Park Goshiki [Yume Kobo] to experience pottery making using the clay used to make roof tiles, a local industry on Awaji Island. Everyone was free to create their own unique ceramic works.

It was a fulfilling day for them to experience Japanese culture and technology as well as to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Awaji Island.

In addition, the students, who are usually in different classes, were able to communicate with each other in Japanese and deepen their exchange.
