2024/07/10
As part of the Japanese cultural experience class of IJLC, students had the opportunity to experience Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) and Naginata (Japanese martial art).
In the Ikebana class, they learned that Japanese culture places great importance on the four seasons, using seasonal flowers and materials to express their essence. They enjoyed arranging flowers freely, each student creating their own piece. They then displayed their finished work in a traditional Japanese room and appreciated Ikebana in a serene atmosphere.
For Naginata, they were instructed by members of the Naginata club at Kansai University's Senriyama campus. After learning etiquette and manners, they participated in practical training with the Naginata. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience a Japanese martial art firsthand.
Through these experiences, they had the chance to immerse themselves in Japanese traditional culture, appreciating its profound aesthetic sense and delicacy. These experiences will undoubtedly have a significant impact on their future endeavors and personal growth.
