Field trip: Online Factory Tour

2021/08/10

Kansai University Japanese Language and Culture Program Preparatory Course (Bekka) holds field trips three times a year to deepen students' understanding of Japanese culture and society.

On August 3, an online factory tour was held as a field trip at Minami Senri International Plaza, where the students learned about the world-class production technology of Imabari Towels, etc., with the cooperation of Kontex Corporation.

First, Mr. Kondo, the president of the company, explained the history of Imabari Towels and the background of branding in an easy-to-understand manner. Then, the Bekka students deepened their knowledge by watching a video of manufacturing of towels at the factory. The students actively participated in the quiz, question and answer session that followed.

Some of participants gave their impressions as "I didn't realize how complicated manufacturing of towels was.", "I gained deeper knowledge of not only the production process but also the distribution and sales aspects of branding."

The Bekka students had a great and meaningful time.
